From the recording Finally
Again, this song opens with a count-in from my grandchildren. This song works to bridge Eastern drums and sitar with church organ and choir, while punctuated with my Santana-like guitar riff. Charley manages to cokes an Eastern flavor out of his bass, and Craig’s flourishes are present throughout. The lyrics reflect my religious beliefs after more than a half century of exploring.
Lyrics
Finally (Part 4): The God
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, all God’s children go to heaven
Your body’s the anchor, your soul’s the ship.
Navigate the storm, it’s a dangerous trip.
Look through the darkness. Look to the light.
Your body’s a temple, your spirit shines bright.
God’s a bridge, not a wall.
God’s in nature. God is in us all.
God is good. God is fair.
God is, God is, everywhere.
More often than not, God loves you.
More often than not, God cares.
God loves you. God loves you.
God loves you. God cares.
Your god’s my god, we’re all the same.
Jesus or Krishna, what’s in a name?
Energy’s eternal, not created, nor destroyed.
Alive forever, not a quantum void.
I am real. The truth in me
I am your home. Is the truth in you.
We come together. God so loved.
You are not alone. God loves you.
Father Time. Hosanna,
Mother Earth. Hallelujah
Prayer and Grace. God so loved.
Chapter and Verse. God loves you.
More often than not, God loves you.
More often than not, God cares.
God loves you.
God cares.
The tree remembers the rain, and I remember you.
