The Zeddi

Lyrics by Greg Marchant

Once upon a time there was a warm creature called a Zeddi.

Now, the Zeddi was like every other creature in the world,

Except for one thing.

The Zeddi gave pieces of itself to everyone it met,

Some were big pieces, some were very small pieces.

One day someone told me the Zeddi was gone.
It disappeared, maybe it gave too much of itself away.
When I heard this, I ran to the place where I kept my pieces of the Zeddi,

Afraid they had disappeared too.

I quickly pulled open the drawer,
And there they were, all of my pieces of the Zeddi from over the years.

The Zeddi may be gone, and I will miss getting new pieces,
But I am so lucky to have all of the pieces I have.

It's Time for Magic

Lyrics by Greg Marchant

In ancient times, in days of old,

Before brave men were given souls,

A bright spark flashed for all to see.

It brought the strongest to their knees.

The light was love, so precious and true,

A special magic that makes life new.

Dancing in the forest, she began her life,

Raised by the elves and the fireflies.

Daughter of nature, daughter of gods.

It’s time for magic. It’s time for love.

She is the magic. She is the love.

The fairest princess, full of wonder,

Taught by druids, a goddess of thunder.

Destined for greatness, she is my fate.

For me and our world, love she creates.

It’s time for magic. It’s time for love.

She is the magic. She is the love.

As hatred and death filled the land,

The queen of love fashioned a plan.

The spark of love would right all wrongs,

And we’d live forever in a song.

You were younger when I met you. I am older than before.

It’s time for magic. It’s time for love.

She is the magic. She is the love.

I’m going to love you like there’s no tomorrow, love you like never before.

I’m going to love you like there’s no tomorrow, love you forevermore.

My partner in life and beyond,

Bound by the love in a song.

Note for note, we play on,

Love and music our magical bond.

It’s time for magic. I loved you then.

It’s time for love. I love you now.

She is the magic. I’ll love you forever.

She is the love. Always.

So, let us dance and sing our song,

A love that’s ancient, yet so strong.

For in this world where darkness reigns,

Our love will be the light that remains.

When our time is through, our love song will play on.

It’s time for magic. It’s time for love.

She is the magic. She is the love.

It’s time for magic. It’s time for love.

She is the magic. She is the love.

The Vault

Lyrics by Marchant, Bridge lyrics by Neises

Tell me the truth. Tell me some lies.

I’ll put them in the vault, where they’ll never die.

Johnny tended bar just across the street,

Serving up cocktails as the patrons warmed their seats.

They’d tell him their tales and they’d cry in their beers.

He’d vault their stories. He’d count their tears.

Father Frank preached the truth to the empty pews.

Parishioners shared their sins in the confessional cube.

The sacred and profane meet in a box,

Where the priest keeps a vault with the strongest lock.

The truth is the light. Lies are dark.

Both in the vault. Both leave their mark.

Tell me the truth. Tell me some lies.

I’ll put them in the vault, where they’ll never die.

Treasures can be stolen and hidden somewhere safe,
Buried deep inside us to save for ‘just in case.’
Digging up the vault of the guarded soul,

Sharing just one secret can leave an empty hole.

The truth is the light. Lies are dark.

Both in the vault. Both leave their mark.

Tell me the truth. Tell me some lies.

I’ll put them in the vault, where they’ll never die.

Sandy cut hair, permed and dyed it too.

Her customers would tell her,  “You won’t believe it’s true.”

She’d lock it in the vault and throw away the key,

But their next time in, right there the truth would be.

My friend and I were talking down at Johnny’s bar.

I told him some things, perhaps I went too far.

He said my gems were safe, locked inside his vault.

But I know very well, he just might let them out.

Tell me the truth. Tell me some lies.

I’ll put them in the vault, where they’ll never die.

Tell me the truth. Tell me some lies.

I’ll put them in the vault, where they’ll never die.
